Tau11 – My Journey of Lifelong Learning

This is a living archive of my thoughts, experiences, and hard-earned insights, drawn from an unusual life. Here you’ll find reflections on the food I’ve eaten, the things I’ve bought, the people I’ve encountered, the places I’ve seen, the books I’ve read, the quotes I’ve kept, and the trends I’ve spotted and capitalized on.

I write this for you, my children, those already here and those yet to come. Daddy loves you more than words can hold. I want each of you to live lives you’re proud of. This is my thinking, in my own voice, left here for you to explore. I hope one day it proves useful.

If, by some unlikely chance, I’m gone before I can guide you in person, let this stand as a poor substitute. But in the more likely case that I’m still here, let this serve as an intellectual archive, a record that I held these convictions long before you were born. May that give weight to my words, and credibility to the wisdom I hope to pass on to you.

Brahma Vidya

Brahma Vidya – Science of the Absolute / Knowledge of Brahman / Dao

There is neither creation nor destruction, neither destiny nor free will; neither path nor achievement; This is the final truth.

I have no birth, no death, and no duties; I’ve never done anything, either good or bad. I’m purely Brahman, beyond all qualities; How could either bondage or liberation exist for me?

Only the Jiva (persona system/ego/sense of self) experiences birth, death, duties. This identity is a fabrication. The Jiva enquires into its own nature.

From a nondualist perspective, all that ever exists is Brahman.

Maya, the illusion of reality, the illusion of separation, the measurement of reality, is what eclipses our view of Brahman.

We believe in the existence of Jiva, and thus we measure our reality according to it.

Brahman Satyam Jagat Mithya – Brahman alone is real, the world is an appearance.

Undifferentiated consciousness =  Brahman = Self with a capital S.

If you begin identifying with certain traits and characteristics that your self has accumulated (lower case), then you are under the spell of Maya. And you have lost your connection with Brahman.

When we think that we are on a spiritual pass, that we ourselves are going to experience liberation and enlightenment, Then we are bound, we suffer.  Many people find this hard to comprehend on the spiritual pass, because we are so invested in ourselves, as an identity on the spiritual path.

Even people who believe their egos are dissolving are still possessed by their egos.

Only the Jiva believes that we are bound, that we need to be liberated, and that we suffer. This is the ultimate psychological approach to your spirituality.

You are the Self right now.

Can we see the Brahman play out in the world of forms? Can we bring our consciousness back to the ground of our being so that we can feel Brahman, the irreducible essence within our heart? That is us, doing us.

Our true nature is not bound by destiny or free will. It can only ever be in the present moment, and that is where it only exists.

TLDR: just do me.
